Wellington, FL-March 1, 2010-Cavalor, the world leader in equine nutrition for high performance horses, has signed a multi‐year agreement with the Dutch company Meneba B.V. for the exclusive rights to use Meneba's patented Presco® cereals in the North American market. According to the terms of the agreement, Cavalor Inc., Cavalor's North American subsidiary, will be the only North American equine nutrition company able to use Presco® cereals in feeds for horses.
The Presco ® patented process developed by Meneba increases the digestibility of gelatinized starch to 90% for all types of cereals. This is twice the digestibility of unprocessed grains and 30% better than other common processing technics. Better digestibility means that more nutrients and energy are provided with less amounts of feed and it considerably reduces the risk of digestive problems, including colic. Cavalor has included Presco ® treated grains in its feeds for many years. The newly‐signed agreement ensures that it will be the only company in North America to use this type of processed cereals.
"Cavalor feeds have a proven record as superior products for high performance horses," said Philippe Collard, President of Cavalor Inc. "One of the reasons is that that they all contain Presco ® processed cereals. Better digestibility means more energy with less feed and also less risk of health issues. The use of Presco ® processed cereals is a significant competitive advantage for our company. This agreement ensures that Cavalor products will maintain this advantage for many years. The response to the introduction of Cavalor feeds in North America has been extremely positive and the use of Presco ® processed cereals has been a major reason for this success."
"We are very happy to have signed this agreement with Cavalor," said Peter van Gemert, Manager of Sales at Meneba. "Cavalor has been a long‐term partner of ours for many years in the European market and we are very pleased to support Cavalor's expansion into the North American market. Cavalor products have a stellar reputation in the equine market. This agreement also increases the recognition of our brand for its innovative drive."
