American Lauren Hough was last into the ring and ended up leading a female one, two, three in the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Germany. It is perhaps a bad sign for course builders when the first horse into the ring in a big class goes clear but Frank Rothenberger need not have worried too much as although Hong Kong's Kenneth Chen did exactly that at the end of the first round there were just ten completely clear rounds from 50 startersbut the time was quite tight and possibly more of an issue that the actual course. Six went through to the second round with a single time penalty and pushing to make it might have resulted in mistakes being made by several combinations including the likes of world champion Jos Lansink who had one down and a time penalty on Spender.

Rebecca Hart and Norteassa Defend Title to Win 2009 Cavalor/USEF Para-Equestrian Dressage National Championship
Lexington, KY – Rebecca Hart has had quite an eventful year. In 2008, she won her first National Championship aboard Norteassa in May, 2008, and then the pair went on to Hong Kong to compete in the 2008 Paralympic Games and barely missed winning an Individual medal. This year, Hart bested 16 other riders to defend her title as 2009 Cavalor/United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Para-Equestrian Dressage National Champion.
